Leaders & Volunteers

Pack 818 runs on parent power.

Every great Pack event, campout, and meeting happens because a parent stepped up. Here's our leadership team — and how you can help.

The Key 3

Pack leadership

Every Cub Scout pack is led by a "Key 3" — three roles required by Scouting America to keep the pack running. Plus a coordinator who helps new families find their way in.

🎧

How to help

Cub Scouting is a family activity

You don't need to be a scout expert. Just willing. Pack 818 has roles for every kind of helper — large or small, regular or one-time.

🏃

Den Leader

Lead your child's den meetings (about once a month). Plans are provided — you mostly need to show up and follow along. Training is free.

🎪

Event Helper

Sign up to help with a single event — the campout, the Pinewood Derby, the Pack picnic. Low commitment, high impact.

💰

Committee Member

Help behind the scenes — treasurer, advancement chair, popcorn coordinator, communications. Pick what fits your skills.

📷

Photographer

Take photos at Pack events for our website, Instagram, and end-of-year slideshow. Even phone photos work great.

📝

Communications

Help with weekly emails, the website, social media, or graphic design for flyers and event posters.

🏠

Drive & host

Carpool to events, host a den meeting at your home, or just show up and help set up chairs. Every bit counts.

Why volunteer

The best memories are the ones you help make

Pack 818 only works because parents step up. If you've ever wondered how Cub Scout packs pull off all those campouts, derbies, and celebrations — it's volunteers like you.

You don't have to know anything about scouting. You don't have to commit to a year. You don't have to be a kid person, an outdoors person, or a coffee-and-donuts person. Just show up willing.

Your scout sees you doing it. That matters more than any merit badge.

Not sure where to start?

Send a quick email and we'll figure out together where you'd be most helpful (and most happy).
